Press release on completion of the project

Botosani Municipality completed project “Multicultural diversity – Pillar for Community Development in Botosani, Iasi and Bistrita-Năsăud counties”. The project was implemented in partnership with Bistrita Municipality and Association “Iubire si Incredere”, under the Program PA17 / RO13 “Promoting Diversity in Culture and Art in the European Cultural Heritage” financed through EEA Grants program administered by the Ministry of Culture through the Project Management Unit.

The approved amount of the project was 863,268.95 lei, representing 100% of grant funds from the EEA and the Romanian Government.

The general objective during project implementation in the period 22.12.2014- 10.31.2016, aimed to promote a better understanding of cultural diversity and strengthening intercultural dialogue, including through strengthening the culture of minorities in Botosani, Bistrita – Nasaud and Iasi.

The results of the project are:  multicultural diversity promoted by organizing four festivals (2 in Botosani, one in Iasi and one in Bistrita) and a series of cultural events (Iasi), the creation of a documentary film on the culture and traditions of multiethnic strengthen intercultural dialogue and capacity development collaboration and the expansion of possibilities for conducting various activities in the field of arts and culture at regional and interregional levels by organizing 12 workshops with experts in culture and arts that led to the development and printing of three sectoral studies on culture and arts of the 3 areas, disseminated through a promotion campaign and advocacy to share understanding of cultural diversity in Romania and the EEA countries.
